Podcasting Is To Become A Billion-Dollar Business By 2021 – Here’s How Fiyin Obayan of The Okiki Podcast Will Be Apart Of It

If you haven’t heard, the podcast industry is growing fast – really fast.

This industry generated $479.1 million in revenue in 2018 and is expected to produce more than $1 billion by 2021, according to a new report from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC.

Deciding to become a podcaster may have resulted in getting some serious side-eyes just a few years ago, but now, it’s a smart way to make money.

However, how do you really make money from a podcast?

Recently, we were able to catch up with Fiyin Obayan who is the CEO of Okiki Consulting and Host of the Okiki Podcast, where she helps business owners and entrepreneurs tell their personal brand and company brand stories through video content.

In a chat with me, Fiyin talked about how she planned on scaling her podcasting business to a scalable, profitable company, and she also shared some tips for entrepreneurs too. We also talked about how she has been able to grow her personal and company brand, and accelerate her growth and find her passion.

This chat is really dear to me because Fiyin is a friend of mine and we share the same goals of empowering communities to make them better and stronger.

The episode will also appeal to entrepreneurs who are running various businesses and are looking for that inspiration they need to get their services running.

Okiki Podcast Segment

The key messages from the interview I had with her are :

  1. Building Your Personal Brand Is Very Important: When building your company brand it is important that you build your personal brand as well. These two go hand in hand and it is important that you are constantly working to grow your brand.
  2. Form Long Lasting Relationships: When starting a podcast, personal relationships is very important. So building trust and partnerships is vital towards the health and well being of you and your business
  3. Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone: Nothing great has ever come out from being in your comfort zone. Real growth is experienced from taking risks and being ready to take action
  4. Don’t Be Afraid To Make Mistakes: You should never be afraid to make errors as this is part of the growth process

When Fiyin started her Podcast, she made sure that she put efforts in scaling it up from the idea stage and now she is getting recognition for her work and this is a positive because it shows that people are interested in the work that she is doing.

Life is usually like that because when building your brand, it is important that you are forming foundations of growth and development and that is exactly what Fiyin is doing with the Okiki Podcast.
